Help Support a Good&Tasty Cause: Every Wednesday from 5:30-9pm, William Howard Taft High School hosts a bunch of food trucks with a portion of proceeds going to the scholarship fund (which helps sends students to college!).
In these tough times, LAUSD, the second largest public school district in the nation, has cut tons of funding (and often in the wrong places, like music, athletic, and after school programs).  In a district where about 40% of its students graduates, and Taft just making the cut at 60%, these kids need all the help they can get.  As a former student myself, it’s not fair that students have to pay for some of their books (if you want to take some AP and academically rigourous courses), all of their art supplies, and most if not all of athletics-related costs, such as transportation to and from games.  No wonder kids don’t graduate and want to be in school.  It doesn’t get any easier once they graduate either.  (Don’t we all know that.)
So, if you’re in the Valley for some reason or have some extra gas and couple of hours to spare for a yummy dinner, come by on Wednesday evenings.  You might have to wait in line, but it’s well worth the standing time.
